Virtual DJ / PCDJ-VJ M3U Files
Previous Top Next

Remember that Virtual DJ and PCDJ-VJ (and Newmark Cue) is basically the same program because they use the same Audio Engine from Atomix. This is important here because it means that when I talk about VDJ files, I am referring to the files of the above software packages (VDJ, PCVJ & Cue).

To load / import VDJ M3U or the History.txt and Tracklist.txt files, select Import VDJ M3U File from the Tools Menu.

This Open Dialog is different from the others in that it can load four (4) different types of files.

Playlist Files ( *.M3U )
History Files ( *.Txt )
Tracklist.Files ( *.Txt )
Text Files      ( *.Txt )

(The TEXT Files are files that have special purposes and will not be discussed here. The application will not load random Text Files)
Here we will load a History.txt file

The buttons on the Grid will become disabled and the record count will show in the Status Bar at the bottom of the screen where the date and time are shown.

After the M3U or TXT files are parsed and loaded into the memory queue, you will see this dialog

Click Yes and you will notice that the Grid is filled with the Song Records that were parsed and the Save Records button is enabled

Click on the Save Records button to complete the process and save the records to the DJ Playlister Database Table. When the final Saving process is done, you will see the following dialog:

After you click this dialog, the grid will empty and you can then close that window.
